Triptych work divided in three parts hinged together.
This format comes from Christian art from the Middle Ages.
In this case it is an equal-sized panels, but typically the middle part is slightly larger. The same form can be also used in jewelry.
This particular triptych has connecting lines between few panels. It is one of many ways to create unity between all parts. Another secret are repetitive forms and the use of only few colours which are repeated along all three canvases.
